Since the political opening of Central and Eastern European countries in the early nineties they have been enjoying a steady growth of the national economies as well as in the insurance section.
In most of the countries the transition to market economy structures has been very successful. According to present political aspirations and ongoing developments various countries have been integrated into the European Union by the year 2004. This process prompted much confidence in a sound development of the region. As a main factor for a positive long-term development we regard the freely growing disposable income of large parts of the populations. From our point of view this would safeguard a sustainable growth of premium income for the insurance industry, in which we wish to participate.
We have been maintaining business contacts with the former monopolistic state owned companies since the seventies. After 1995 we started to systematically create an underwriting unit specialising in Property and Casualty treaty business emanating from Central and Eastern European countries.
Since that time we are very glad to have been able to build up a sizable portfolio which is very much to our satisfaction. We now cooperate with close to 150 direct writing companies in 28 countries. As our main asset we regard the ability of our team to communicate with you as our clients your languages. Our multi-national team is able and prepared to discuss needs and demands with you, and to develop individual, tailor-made solutions.
We are quite prepared to offer capacity for traditional proportional treaties in the field of property business. However, we would not conceal that our main focus is on offering solutions by way of designing non-proportional programmes. In this area we can offer substantial capacity and services, including quotations, and the responsibility to lead the programmes in all lines of business, even if the business is handled in a specialty division, like aviation and space, marine, credit or structured products, we are eager to promote all their kind of special service to you.
