Hannover Re is meanwhile running five proprietary e business platforms that have been developed since 2002 under the label “reCover”. They include TLO (Marine Total Loss Only), PA (Personal Accident for German soccer players), PDA (Property Damage Australia), UAL (US Auto Liability) and WCO (Workers Compensation). In addition MMF (Medical Malpractice France) has been implemented for the Inter Hannover, We are continuously developing new platforms and invite our clients to approach us with suggestions for books of business that they would like to see online, or with requests to be enrolled on an existing platform.
The rationale behind reCover is to:

make use of internet technologies in order to economise on data inputting,

reduce data errors and misunderstandings,

increase speed and to liberate users from repetitive tasks.
In contrast to traditional ways of exchanging information (by fax or e-mail), reCover does not require multiple inputting of data. As soon as a risk is submitted to the platform, our built-in pre-underwriting engine calculates key figures that the underwriter needs for the underwriting decision, thus reducing turnaround times for our clients. Since each application is a customised product and has been developed together with key clients, the electronic placement process completely covers the respective product’s needs and is adapted to its specific requirements.
