Our Facultative North America, Multinational & Energy and E-Business department is entrusted with two separate responsibilities:
- one is to provide reinsurance capacity on a single risk basis for our North American customers and customers worldwide for multinational risks,
- the other is to develop and maintain E-Business underwriting tools for Hannover Re's overall facultative operations.

We are the centre of competence for assuming risks from big multinational companies. Our underwriters have the expertise required for assessing risk structures characteristic for this group of policy holders. Thus, they are competent partners for discussing tailor-made solutions with our customers for this group's risk engineering demands.
We are also given the exclusive underwriting authority for our North American clients' facultative cession requirements.
Of course, we are fully backed by our worldwide network of local underwriting and marketing centres, and, for the benefit of our customers, closely cooperate with our colleagues in the various treaty teams - you can find them under Regional Markets in the above navigation bar.
Our unit is split into two teams, one specialising on Property lines - including Engineering in the USA - , the other focusing on Casualty lines - to be more specific: all lines of Third Party Liability, Motor, Workmen's Compensation, Enterprise Risks/Transaction Risks.
